Me, the boss, trouble and poppy

I would just like to tell you a little more about myself. Yes I’m a specialist Scottish headshot & portrait photographer based in Kilsyth just outside Glasgow.

My loves are good wine, cheese and biscuits and my feet up in front of a log fire.

Now the dull stuff but important

I started my training in photography many years ago in Aberdeen, first working for Martin Johnston Ltd, one of Aberdeen's oldest and most influential wedding photographic companies, being personally trained by J.Steve Martin, in the classic style of wedding photography which was so popular in Aberdeen at the time. In fact, many of the most successful wedding photographers in the city began their training in the fundamentals of classic photography with Martin Johnston. I later moved to Stag Photographics to finish my training and over the next few years I photographed more than 250+ weddings all over Scotland. When I started my training things were very different, cameras used rolls of film and we would spend endless hours in darkrooms processing the rolls of film with chemicals. Thankfully the cameras we use and the technology involved has become increasingly sophisticated; everything is now digital and available for customers to view online. Gone are the days of using large bulky Hasselblad cameras on tripods and today I now use state of the art Nikon equipment. All the images I take are reviewed and adjusted using computer programs such as Lightroom and Photoshop. Having had a wee career detour, i now specialise in headshots for business professionals, actors and SAs

I would like to believe that I am offering a highly personal and professional service in which you can trust, with years of experience behind me. I am well aware that the professional photographic market has many photographers to choose from and therefore sincerely believe experience is highly important.
